Residents of Ohwim in the Bantama Constituency are appealing to the authorities to as a matter of urgency improve their security system since they are living in fear.
Their frustration came due to the latest report of the killing of a 30-year-old man by unknown armed men at Ohwim in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
Abdul Wahab was shot dead by suspected armed robbers on Thursday dawn
According to the report, the deceased, 30, works at ‘B Musah Phones’ company limited in Kumasi.
Tofiq Gonga, elder brother to the deceased speaking about the incident said, they were asleep and heard a gunshot sound in the room of the deceased.
They proceeded to the room right after the sound only to see his younger brother in the pool of blood.
Abdul Wahab (deceased) was rushed to the County hospital but was confirmed dead.
However, the residents have expressed their grievances over his sad demise and calling stringent security measures in the Ohwim community and its environs.
They said the numerous robbery cases and deadly attacks have put fear in them.
They revealed today that after Wahab’s death, a colleague was stabbed to death in April in the same community blaming the Police Patrol team for not patrolling the community.
A chop operator at Ohwim Asore-Nkwanta(Church junction) was attacked by some men, robbing and hurting in the process.
The crimes recorded in the Ohwim community are numerous
They added that it is dangerous for them to walk at dawn, therefore, calling on the Police and stakeholders to as a matter of urgency come to their aid.
