Acting National Security Coordinator Edward Asomani replaces Adu-Amanfoh

With effect from Monday, August 8, 2022, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made some changes in the National Security apparatus, appointing Mr. Edward Asomani as National Security Coordinator.

In consultation with the Public Services Commission, the National Security Council must provide the constitutionally required advice regarding Mr. Asomani’s appointment.

Adu-Amanfoh’s former boss, Ambassador Major General (Rtd) Francis Adu-Amanfoh, has been reassigned by the President as Special Advisor to the President for the Accra Initiative.

Changes at NIB

As of Monday, August 8, 2022, Nana Attobrah Quaicoe will serve as Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), formerly the Bureau of National Intelligence (BNI).

Additionally, his confirmation is pending the National Security Council’s constitutionally required advice in consultation with the Public Service Commission.

As an ambassador-designate to the Democratic Republic of Congo, his former boss, Kwaku Domfeh, has been reassigned from the Director General position at the NIB.
