FDA Shuts Down Two Other Branches Of Marwako Over Food Poisoning Brouhaha
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has updated the public about the closure of two other branches of Marwako restaurant after several reports of food poisoning.
In the early hours of Thursday, 12th May 2022, there were a series of reports from some Ghanaians over an alleged food poisoning at Marwako restaurant.
A Twitter user, Edward Elohim raised the alarm after he posted that the fast-food service had given him and several other people food poisoning. The poster also wrote, “Nyaho clinic apparently has over 70 patients who all got sick from Marwako. this is crazy”.
The post from the Twitter USD caught the attention of many who also came out to share their experience and how some of them have been hospitalized while some at the verge of death.
The complaint from the public caught the attention of the Food and Drugs Authority who in turn made a move by shutting down the East Legon branch of the restaurant.
In a fresh update, FDA has disclosed that two other branches of Marwako restaurant; La and Abelemkpe have been closed down as well with the help of the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly. The press statement also states that further investigations of the food and other branches of the eatery.
