Many celebrities have openly admitted to having had one or more cosmetic or plastic surgeries.
A number of Ghanaian celebrities have revealed that they had most of their surgeries performed outside of Ghana.
The following are some well-known celebrities who have undergone one or more body enhancement procedures.
1. Moesha Boduong
Moesha Boduong, an actress and socialite, shot into the spotlight with her curvaceous body.
She won the hearts and eyes of many with her incredible body type: slim waist, wide hips, and huge backside.
Many people began to wonder whether she achieved such a phenomenal body naturally or through procedures or medications after throwback photos and videos surfaced online.
After several media speculations, Moesha finally addressed the rumors. In an interview with GHOne TV in August 2020, she admitted to having undergone plastic surgery to achieve her appearance.
On the show, she explained that she had a BBL, which is a procedure in which fat is removed from undesirable body parts and transferred to more desirable body parts to achieve the desired shape.
2. Nana Ama McBrown Mensah
Nana Ama McBrown Mensah, a Kumawood actress and media personality, recently topped trends and wowed many after revealing that she, too, had undergone surgery.
The host of one of Ghana’s most popular entertainment shows, United Showbiz, hinted that she underwent the procedure because she was unhappy with her fupa.
“I did liposuction because dieting didn’t work for me,” explains Nana Ama McBrown.
Many of the actress’s ardent fans noticed some changes in her body when she returned to the show in July 2022, about eight months after her absence.
When she was invited as a guest speaker for a seminar organized by Glitz Africa in Kumasi on August 1, 2022, news of her cosmetic procedure broke. Mrs. McBrown Mensah confirmed that she had a liposuction procedure and is not ashamed to admit it.
“Liposuction, I am saying it and I am not shy because if you’re growing, and you are comfortable, and you have the resources and you are healthy, you will still need maintenance.”
3. Sista Afia
Sista Afia, a versatile rapper and singer, is one of many celebrities in the country who have enhanced their bodies to achieve the hourglass figure.
Despite the fact that she has not clearly revealed whether or not she has undergone a cosmetic procedure, recent photos of her show she has enhanced her body.
The ‘Asuoden’ singer has recently been posting revealing photos that show off her incredible hourglass figure. In June 2022, she posted some swimwear photos that went viral on the internet.
Many in the comments section wondered if she was announcing her new enhanced body to her devoted followers because she has never released swimwear photos showing of skin on her social media pages.
4. Kisa Gbekle
Kisa Gbekle, a Ghanaian actress and socialite, also revealed that her huge backside and flat tummy were achieved through BBL surgery.
In a June 2022 interview with Abeiku Santana on ATUU, she revealed that she spent over GH60,000 on cosmetic procedures to achieve her curvy body.
She also stated that she underwent the cosmetic procedure because she was unhappy with her saggy stomach. She hinted that her saggy and protruding belly was the result of overeating and pregnancy.
Fantana was added to the list of celebrities who admitted to having cosmetic surgery in July 2022.
In an interview with celebrity blogger ZionFelix, the versatile Ghanaian rapper and singer, born Francine Koffie, stated that she underwent cosmetic surgery because she was unhappy with her appearance.
The 25-year-old is proud of her recent BBL surgery, but she is not ashamed to admit that she underwent the procedure to increase her backside and flatten her tummy.
“I have made myself look like what I feel comfortable in what I want to look like. If you don’t like something about yourself and you have the money to change it, you should just change it. I did what makes me happy.”
7. Princess Shyngle
Princess Shyngle, a Gambian-born Ghanaian actress, was one of the celebrities who was previously known to have undergone cosmetic surgery when it was not yet popular in the country.
Even though it was obvious that she had, the actress hinted in 2015 that she had not undergone any surgery to reduce her waistline. She revealed that her hourglass figure was entirely the result of waist training and sticking to a healthy diet.
Princess Shyngle, on the other hand, admitted in 2016 to using waist trainers for 20 hours per day to help trim her waistline.
In February 2019, she announced on Instagram that she had removed 5 of her ribs to achieve her hourglass figure.
Sefa, a Ghanaian singer, has not admitted to having undergone surgery, but many have compared her before and after photos and confirmed that she has.
In an interview with media personality Delay on The Delay Show, which aired on YouTube on July 16, 2021, she asked if she had undergone any form of surgery to achieve her hourglass figure. Sefa responded that she hasn’t done anything to her body and hasn’t gone under the knife.
Delay then revealed the name of the doctor as well as the country, Dominican Republic, where she had the surgery. Despite numerous attempts to persuade Sefa to tell the truth, she denied ever having undergone surgery.
She explained that she has only undergone a liposuction procedure and nothing else, not even her backside or a tummy tuck.
