When it comes to rap battles, the ‘Ekorso’ hitmaker has implied he is capable of beating M.anifest, Sarkodie, Medikal, Strongman, Lyrical Joe and any other Ghanaian rapper, but he has chosen not to do so.
Kofi Jamar says he does not do rap music because Ghana does not pay enough for it. It’s not my job to be a rapper. Although I’m a musical artist, I can outrap your favorite rapper any day. I just don’t make enough money rapping to spend my entire life doing it,” he explained.
A Gad One Records signee recently tweeted that “a rapper might rap all his life and never have a hit song”.
The rapper continued, “and you know how they treat you as an artist if you don’t have a hit song. So you guys have to take it easy on a rapper who tries to switch and commercialize his art to suit the crowd. Everybody got to get paid.”
During the Kumerica wave, Kofi Jamar rose to fame with his ‘Ekorso’ track. He now has a new rap track called ‘Dangerous’ featuring Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones.
Another tweet he shared said “being a musician doesn’t mean you have to always be politically correct my guy”.
The message he gave was, “Do yourself, don’t allow anyone to bring you down with that “humble yourself” crap.” Every path is different, he concluded. The song can be heard below.
