With immediate effect, the LPG Marketers Association has called off its industrial action that began on Monday, August 1st, 2022.
After lifting the ban on retail LPG outlets, the government is allowing them to be built.
The association said in a statement, “The LPG Marketing Companies Association of Ghana welcomes the government’s decision to lift the ban on construction of LPG retail outlets”.
As a result of this statement, the industrial action that commenced on Monday, August 1, 2022, has been called off with immediate effect.
Ghanaians were commended for their tremendous support.
The Association also commended President Akufo-Addo, the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid for reversing the decision that had cost some of its members their lives and millions of cedis.
We are especially concerned about the lack of details in the NPA’s communication on lifting the ban, which is the basis for this resolution”.
“It is our earnest expectation that the Ministry of Energy and the NPA will bring all the regulatory bodies on board to ensure the smooth implementation of this directive from Cabinet”, it concluded.
